Chennai/Mumbai, April 21, 2026: In a landmark political
development that promises to reshape the contours of Tamil Nadu politics, the
Republican Party of India (Bhimrao Ambedkar), deeply rooted in the
revolutionary ideals of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, has forged a historic
tripartite alliance with the All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnetra
Kazhagam led by V.K. Sasikala and the faction of Pattali Makkal Katchi (Ayya
PMK) led by veteran leader Dr. S. Ramadoss. This powerful coming together of
forces committed to social justice is set to contest the Tamil Nadu Legislative
Assembly Elections scheduled for 23rd April 2026, offering a bold and inclusive
alternative to the people of Tamil Nadu.
Guided by the timeless principles of Babasaheb Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar; liberty, equality, and fraternity, this alliance seeks to annihilate
caste-based discrimination, empower the marginalized, and build a society where
every individual enjoys dignity and opportunity. Ambedkar’s vision of “educate,
agitate, and organize” resonates strongly in this partnership, as the parties
have come together not merely for electoral gains but to create a new social
and political equation that uplifts Dalits, backward classes, Vanniyars, and
all deprived sections of Tamil society. The alliance stands as a living
embodiment of Ambedkar’s dream of a casteless and just India, now being
realized on the soil of Tamil Nadu through unified action and shared commitment
to people’s welfare.
Bhimrao Yashwantrao Ambedkar, grandson of Nation Builder Dr
Babasaheb Ambedkar and the architect of this alliance, expressed his deep
satisfaction with the arrangement and stated, “As the representative of
Republican Party of India, I bring the proud legacy of Babasaheb Dr. B.R.
Ambedkar to Tamil Nadu. We have found strong common ground with both the
parties led by V.K. Sasikala and Dr. S. Ramadoss. I am truly excited to promote
Ambedkar’s core values of justice, equality, and empowerment through this
alliance. This partnership is a visionary achievement of our political ambition
and will prove to be a historic turning point in the politics of Tamil Nadu.”
The Republican Party of India (Bhimrao Ambedkar) will field
two dedicated and experienced leaders as its candidates in this crucial
election. K. Raja, General Secretary of the party, will contest from Tirumayam
Assembly Constituency (No. 181), while K. Thangaraj, President of RPI Tamil
Nadu, will contest from K.V. Kuppam Assembly Constituency (No. 45). Both
candidates bring with them a strong grassroots connection, unwavering
dedication to Ambedkarite ideology, and a proven track record of advocating for
the rights of the oppressed. Their participation underscores the party’s
resolve to carry the voice of the voiceless directly into the Tamil Nadu
Legislative Assembly.
V.K. Sasikala, leader of the All India Puratchi Thalaivar
Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam, expressed her vision for the alliance by stating, “We
are forging a new path of unity and people’s welfare. This alliance with RPI
and Dr. Ramadoss will ensure that every working hand gets employment and no one
is forced to migrate from villages to cities in search of jobs. Together, we
will build a Tamil Nadu where social justice and development walk hand in
hand.”
Dr. S. Ramadoss, the founder of Pattali Makkal Katchi and a
tireless champion of backward communities, particularly the Vanniyars,
highlighted the deeper purpose of this collaboration: “For decades, I have
fought for the rights of backward sections and social justice. This alliance
represents a powerful union committed to reservation, equity, and a liquor-free
Tamil Nadu. We will work tirelessly to create a prosperous state that truly
uplifts every section of society and moves beyond empty promises.”
Echoing Babasaheb Ambedkar’s call for political power as the
master key to social progress, K. Raja declared, “This is far more than an
electoral understanding, it is a historic social and political awakening.
Inspired by Babasaheb’s ideals of equality and justice, we will take the
concerns of Dalits, backward classes, and the deprived straight to the Tamil
Nadu Assembly. We appeal to all justice-loving citizens of Tamil Nadu to join
us in building a brighter, more equitable future.”
The alliance partners firmly believe that elections are not
won through announcements alone but through the active cooperation, support,
and participation of the people. They have called upon supporters across the
state to unite wholeheartedly and strengthen this front so that the dreams of
Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar can be turned into reality on Tamil soil.
This tripartite alliance is expected to significantly
influence the political landscape of Tamil Nadu by consolidating the votes and
aspirations of Dalit, backward, and Vanniyar communities. It offers a fresh,
principled alternative centered on employment generation, skill development,
caste annihilation, and inclusive growth; values that lie at the very heart of
Ambedkar’s philosophy.
Together, under the guiding light of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s
principles, the alliance marches forward with the resolve to create a Tamil
Nadu where liberty, equality, and fraternity are not mere words but lived
realities for every citizen.
